Hey everyone! So, it's been a while, huh. You're probably wondering what's happened to my blog, and why I'm residing over here on Squarespace now. I've decided to drop the AnniePancake moniker and switch up this blog a little bit. I transferred all my bloglovin' followers from Annie Pancake over to here in the hopes that you'll still be interested in following, but if not, for whatever reason, I completely understand if you choose to unfollow!
I took an unannounced break from this blog a while ago. I feel like most of the time when people make these kinds of posts the cite burnout or a lack of inspiration as their reason for being away, but that wasn't the case with me. I wasn't sick of the internet, I wasn't falling out of love with blogging, I just had to choose real life over it for a while.
I deliberately stopped producing content for my blog over the last few weeks/months because I'm in my final term at uni and no matter how much I love this blog, it's existence doesn't mean anything to the mark I get after 3 years of Graphic Design. I reluctantly stopped setting aside time to create posts in favour of wrapping up my degree and really immersing myself in being an illustrator whilst it really mattered.
I have been itching to get back ever since I stopped, but it turns out my self-inforced hiatus was actually a huge insight into my digital spce, and made me realise a lot of things:
I am an Illustrator, yet my blog shows surprisingly little of that. Even though I enjoyed making those how-tos, tips and reminder posts, I really didn't feel like I was hammering home my presence as an illustrator not a blogger.
I have absorbed way too much of that B2B, infopreneur advice which isn't all that helpful for a 'product-based' business like mine.
I'm so glad I took this break, because it's made me realise that I need and I want to to be sharing my work in my space, and I realised that I have permission to do whatever I want with it.
Still, I'm so happy to be back and I have so much to share. Whilst we're here I thought I would catch you up with what is going on with me.
I'm handing all my work in in one week. This final term has been a serious kick into overdrive. Suddenly all this magic work has just flown from my fingertips. I have created a few cool new projects that I want to share with you guys, and that I want to realise in real life.
#the100daysproject I've started the 100 day project with #100daysofladies. In my typically scattered and forgetful fashion I am a little behind, but I'm catching up, so if you want to check it out come join me on Instagram!
I've just launched a sale over in my shop! I'm selling off some older stock to make room for lots of new lovely things, so they're at a pretty big discount! Head over and have a look.
I'm so happy to be back! I can't wait to share more stuff with you soon!
