Hands up if you love Pinterest?
I’ve been a believer ever since they invented it - back when you had to have an invite to join. There’s something about me that wants to collect, preserve and organise every beautiful, inspiring thing I ever come across - it was the social media I never knew I needed! I love pinning all year round, but I really come into my own when it comes to Christmas pinning. I’ll save gorgeous living rooms and enviable workspaces to my heart’s content, but I really live for that Christmas #content. There’s something so magical about the array of glittering, effortlessly minimal Christmas trees, flickering taper candles, arrays of gold flecked decorations, chic-ly scandinavian fur rugs and knit socks: scrunched, rumpled and rolled just-so.
So it will probably come as little surprise that I’ve been squirrelling away heaps of Christmas ideas over on my Merry and Bright board, and today I thought I’d share exactly what’s inspiring my Christmas decor this year. One of the things I love about Pinterest, is that you don’t tend to look at your boards as a whole that regularly, so when you do visit them to revisit your inspiration, It’s really interesting to see themes come through that you hadn’t necessarily planned. What I’m noticing with my inspiration this year is a lot of Gold stars and glitter (that one doesn’t surprise me, I live for a sprinkling of glittery gold stars) but also lots of handmade elements - embroidery, paper craft and wood. I’ve always thought I was quite a traditional gal when it comes to Christmas colours, but I’ve suprised myself with mainly neutral and natural colours, with a little splash of blush here and there.
Pulling together this post has made me even more inspired and now I’m dreaming up the perfect giftwrap and ribbon combinations… Back to Pinterest I go…!
