Hey! What's up people. So if you are into these posts, you might have noticed that last week I skipped a weekly reminder. Yup! Life definitely got in the way, and the launch used up all of my time that I usually set aside for blogging. Still, I'm back on the wagon and I have another Your Weekly Reminder for you today.
This week is, ironically, about making time. I feel like we are all guilty of saying 'I just don't have enough time to *blank*' or even ' I wish I had time to *blank*'. However, I think the reality is, we make time for the things we really care about.
I love painting and drawing and making, so I blow off the gym for it a lot, or I forfeit a lazy sunday netflix-ing for it. You prioritize the things you truly care about. Practicing my craft is more important to me than powering through season one of Cougar Town (though, sometimes that is my priority and yes, I totally loved it).
I sat down to practice my hand lettering this week. I am good at drawing it out in pencil, and then tracing in ink from right-to-left (to avoid left handed smudging) but I wanted to improve my freehanding, left-to-right, working on confidence in my strokes and holding my hand correctly to prevent smudging. This week's post is my best shot from my practice session.
So here's your reminder this week to make time to be creative. It doesn't have to be 5 hours, and it doesn't have to be a masterpiece. Sit down and practice your craft before the weekend is out. Make time.
