Recently, I've been trying to get into the habit of working 'smarter' on my uni projects in the week, so I have my weekends and evenings to myself. I've been reading/listening to/hearing a lot about balance and also a lot about side-hustle (outside your day-job which I guess is what uni is for me at the moment)I guess my 'side-hustle' would be this blog, and my illustration shop.
I really believe that if you want to have time to do something, you will make time. So I made time. I really want to make illustration my life and do something I love and I figured University was the perfect time to get it off the ground. If you want to run a shop though, you have to have stuff to put in it!
I tend to do my 'outside of uni' drawing into this little sketchbook I started up over Easter, and it's almost full! I'm trying to focus on making every page beautiful, and if there are pages with little scribbles, I will try to do something a bit more interesting with them at some point. My aim is to make a full book of pages i'm proud of. I'm planning to take another one with me to Japan, and fill a big one over our long summer holiday!
These are a few of the pages I've been working on recently. Some of them will become prints and stuff, others will stay kept in my little book. Hope you like them, I can't wait to share more.
